Skvarla III and the Economic Development Partnership of N.C. announced today that Blue Bloodhound, LP is establishing operations in Catawba County and plans to create 191 new jobs over the next three years.  The company plans to invest $400,000 in the city of Hickory over the same period.

The expansion will create 70 new jobs over the next three years with a company investment of $69.8 million in the City of Monroe.

Skvarla III and the Economic Development Partnership of N.C. announced today that Carolina Nonwovens, LLC  will be expanding its facilities in North Carolina and doubling its workforce with the creation of  35 new jobs over the next three years.  The company plans to invest $12.25 million in the town of Maiden over the same period.

Skvarla III and the Economic Development Partnership of N.C. announced today that BlueScope Buildings North America will be expanding its facility in Scotland County and creating 115 new jobs over the next three years.  The company plans to invest $9.2 millon in the city of Laurinburg over the same period.

Skvarla III and the Economic Development Partnership of N.C. announced today that Mohawk Industries will expand its manufacturing facility in Rockingham County and create 105 new jobs over the next five years.  The company plans to invest $8 million in the city of Eden.
North Carolina Commerce Secretary John E. Skvarla, III and Assistant Secretary for Rural Economic Development Dr. Patricia Mitchell announced today that the Town of Mars Hill has been awarded a grant under the BizConnect Broadband Pilot Grant Program.  The program provides grants to North Carolina municipalities to fund broadband to business locations that are unserved or underserved by connectivity. 
Governor Pat McCrory announced today North Carolina has paid off the unemployment insurance debt owed to the federal government. That debt was as high as $2.8 billion and stood at $2.5 billion when Governor McCrory took office in January 2013. 
North Carolina Commerce Secretary John E. Skvarla, III and Assistant Secretary for Rural Economic Development Dr. Patricia Mitchell have announced the creation of the Commerce Fellows/Building Community through Capacity and Knowledge program.  The program, which will be offered to local governments, will be administered by the Rural Economic Development Division.
