Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that Turbocoating SpA, a supplier of machining processes and coatings for the industrial gas turbine market, will locate a new production facility in Catawba County.  The company plans to create 53 jobs and invest $15 million during the next three years and increase to 110 jobs after five years in Hickory.  The project was made possible in part by a $110,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.
Gov. Bev Perdue announced today that Superior Essex Inc., a global leader in the design, manufacture and supply of wire and cable products, intends to open its second manufacturing facility in Tarboro. The company plans to create an additional 116 jobs over five years and invest incrementally more than $58 million in the facility. The project was made possible in part by a state grant from the Job Development Investment Grant program.
The North Carolina Energy Office approved $1.8 million in grants to seven businesses and non-profit agencies to make energy-efficiency upgrades that will trim energy use, cut utility bills and provide 80 jobs around the state. The grants are funded through the federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
Gov. Bev Perdue announced today that Pittsburgh Glass Works, LLC, a leading supplier of automotive glass products and aftermarket glass services, plans to open a manufacturing facility in Elkin. The company anticipates the creation of more than 260 jobs over four years and will invest more than $85 million in the operation. The project was made possible in part by state grants from the Job Development Investment Grant and One North Carolina programs.
Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that Steven Roberts Original Desserts and Ticklebelly Desserts, creators, manufacturers and distributors of frozen desserts, will open a new bakery in Robeson County.  The company plans to create 342 jobs and invest $4 million during the next five years in Pembroke.  The project was made possible in part by a $392,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.
Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that Ziehl-Abegg, an international manufacturer of industrial fans, will expand its production facility in Guilford County.  The company plans to create 42 jobs and invest $2.47 million during the next three years in Greensboro.  The project was made possible in part by a $60,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.
State Grant Helps EcoVolt Locate in East Bend
Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that LSA America, Inc., a manufacturer of light sport aircraft, will locate with a new production facility in Halifax County.  The company plans to create 34 jobs and invest $400,000 during the next three years.  The project was made possible in part by a $136,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.
