Raleigh, N.C. -  Governor Pat McCrory, N.C. Commerce Secretary John E. Skvarla III and the Economic Development Partnership of N.C. announced today that Sanderson Farms will construct a new state-of-the-art poultry complex in Robeson County.  The new processing plant and hatchery will create approximately 1,100 new jobs during the next three years. Sanderson Farms expects to invest approximately $139 million in the complex which includes upgrades to its Kinston, N.C. feed mill.
The North Carolina Rural Economic Development Division has selected Matrix Design Group to prepare a Joint Land Use Study (JLUS) for the communities surrounding Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, including the Dare County Range.  The Department of Defense Office of Economic Adjustment provides grants to state and local governments to conduct a JLUS.  The grant will support the cost of the study, which is $297,675.
, N.C. -  Governor Pat McCrory announced today the positive results of a study measuring the statewide economic impact of the unprecedented back-to-back 2014 U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open Championships, conducted by the United States Golf Association at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club in North Carolina June 9-22, 2014.

Skvarla III and the Economic Development Partnership of N.C. announced today that Jimbo’s Jumbos, Inc. will expand its operations in Chowan County and create 78 new jobs over the next three years.  The company plans to invest $30 million in the city of Edenton over the same period.
, N.C. - Governor Pat McCrory, N.C. Commerce Secretary John E. Skvarla III and the Economic Development Partnership of N.C. announced today that Global Packaging will expand its facility in Richmond County. The expansion will create 33 new jobs over the next three years.  The company plans to invest $9.8 million in Hamlet.   
, N.C. - Governor Pat McCrory, N.C. Commerce Secretary John E. Skvarla III and the Economic Development Partnership of N.C. announced today that Pactiv, LLC will be expanding its operations in Lenoir County.  The company will create 59 new jobs and invest more than $24 million in Kinston over the next three years.   “Pactiv is a global company that already has a large presence in North Carolina,” said Governor McCrory. “Any time one of our established companies chooses to expand, it sends a strong message about our state’s great business climate.”  
The NCWorks Commission approved a ground-breaking strategic plan today that creates an integrated workforce development system that is responsive to the needs of employers and better prepares workers for North Carolina’s economy. This means that for the first time, North Carolina now has a comprehensive plan that sets the direction of the entire workforce system.
State Ranks No. 1 in the South Atlantic; Greensboro-High Point Ranks No. 1 Metro Area of its Size
 Governor Pat McCrory announced today that North Carolina jumped to fourth place among all states in Site Selection magazine’s 2014 Governor’s Cup, a closely-watched ranking of economic development success.  North Carolina moved up three spots as compared to last year’s ranking.  The Governor’s Cup is awarded annually based on the number of new and expanded corporate facilities as tracked by Conway Data Inc.’s New Plant Database.  North Carolina ranked number one in the South Atlantic region.  
, N.C. - Governor Pat McCrory, N.C. Commerce Secretary John E. Skvarla III and the Economic Development Partnership of N.C. announced today that Scott Technologies, Inc. will be investing in growth of its Scott Safety headquarters in Union County, NC.  The company plans to invest $28.7 million in Monroe over the next five years, supporting 67 new jobs at the location.
