Job Ready Grants
N.C. Job Ready Workforce Investment Grants provide funding to local workforce development boards in support of recruitment and talent-development activities tied to economic development projects across the state. N.C. Job Ready Grants are intended to solve common workforce recruitment challenges faced by employers by funding talent attraction and employee engagement efforts. N.C. Job Ready Grants assist businesses seeking to locate or expand in North Carolina, fostering the alignment of economic and workforce development.
Grants can be used for:
- Recruitment and outreach activities
- Hiring and screening support
- Talent pipeline development
- Work-based learning activities, including On-the-Job Training (OJT) and Incumbent Worker Training (IWT).
Local Workforce Development Boards can apply for N.C. Job Ready Grants to help meet the workforce needs of employers involved in specific economic development projects. The amount of funding an employer is eligible for will be determined in part by the number of new hires, the county tier, and the size of the capital investment.
