Governor Pat McCrory and North Carolina Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker announced today that NGK Ceramics USA will expand its operations in Iredell County. The company plans to create 18 new jobs and invest more than $22 million in Mooresville.
 
“North Carolina’s workers are uniquely qualified to handle all aspects of the manufacturing process,” said Governor McCrory. “We’re thankful that NGK Ceramics USA is expanding in Iredell County. The State of North Carolina is committed to supporting the growth of advanced manufacturing.”
 
The Division of Employment Security’s (DES) Assistant Secretary, Dale Folwell, announced that the Division will merge two units to provide more accuracy, timeliness and quality to all aspects of the Division. DES, a division of the N.C. Department of Commerce, will merge Quality Control with Internal Audit effective immediately.
“This move will enhance internal accountability and oversight,” said Folwell. “It will not add positions, but will increase our accuracy and consistency to benefit our customers.”

Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker announced today that Domtar Corporation, a pulp, paper and absorbent hygiene products manufacturer, marketer and distributor will expand its facility in Pitt County.   The company plans to create 35 new jobs and invest $100,000 over the next three years in Greenville. This expansion is in addition to the approximately $20 million of capital already invested in the region by Domtar during the past two years.
