RALEIGH - Gov. Bev Perdue today announced appointees to the North Carolina Energy Policy Council.  The council was reorganized during the past legislative session as part of Gov. Perdue’s strategy to make North Carolina a leader in green economy jobs by strengthening state leadership in energy policy and making smart investments to create green jobs and foster innovation.
Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that 18 small North Carolina companies will receive grants up to $100,000 to develop and market promising green and alternative energy technologies and products.  It is the third round of grants distributed by the state Department of Commerce’s Green Business Fund and puts more than $1 million in federal Recovery Act dollars to work in North Carolina.
