Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that Teupen, a global leader in the design and manufacture of track-mounted aerial work platforms, will open its U.S. headquarters, services and spare parts operations in Mecklenburg County.  The company has leased a 10,000-square-foot industrial building in Charlotte and is creating 10 jobs immediately, while planning to expand further in the next two years.   

Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that Biotage LLC, a Swedish company that develops and manufactures instruments and consumables for pharmaceutical research, will relocate its United States headquarters to Charlotte.  The company plans to invest in facility upgrades and create 21 new jobs in Mecklenburg County.

“North Carolina is known globally as a strategic location for tapping into the North American market,” Perdue said.  “Our top-rated business climate and highly skilled workforce continue to attract global companies looking to invest and expand.”

Gov. Bev Perdue announced today that Brunswick Corporation, a leading global manufacturer of recreational products and parent company of New Bern-based Hatteras Yachts, will expand in Craven County. The company plans to add 350 jobs over the next five years and invest $4.7 million. The expansion was made possible in part by state grants from the Job Development Investment Grant program and One North Carolina Fund. 

Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that Premier Inc., the largest healthcare alliance in the nation, will move its headquarters from California and expand in Charlotte, adding 300 jobs over the next five years and investing $17.7 million. The project was made possible in part by a state Job Development Investment Grant.

“North Carolina prides itself on being a state that promotes innovation,” Perdue said. “Premier’s pioneering approach to healthcare shows that we have created a business climate in which innovative companies can prosper and grow.”

N.C. Department of Cultural Resources Secretary Linda A. Carlisle today unveiled the findings of new research which shows that the Creative Industry in North Carolina accounts for nearly 300,000 jobs, just over 5 ½ percent of the state’s workforce, and contributes $41.4 billion to North Carolina’s economy.

RALEIGH Gov. Bev Perdue announced today that North Carolina remains the state with the “Top Business Climate,” according to Site Selection magazine.  It is the fifth year in a row and the eighth time in nine years that the state has taken the top honor in the annual ranking by Site Selection, one of the nation’s premier magazines for economic development. 

Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that Save-A-Lot, Ltd., a leading discount grocery chain, will build a new distribution center in Davidson County.  The company plans to create 43 jobs and invest $24.45 million during the next three years in Lexington.  The project was made possible in part by a $125,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.

Gov. Bev Perdue announced today that North Carolina remains the state with the “Top Business Climate,” according to Site Selection magazine. It is the sixth year in a row and the ninth time in 10 years that the state has taken the top honor in the annual ranking by Site Selection, one of the nation’s premier economic development magazines.

As part of the ranking, the magazine surveys corporate executives that help businesses select new locations. This year, those executives ranked the Tar Heel state as the top for ease of doing business.

  Gov. Bev Perdue announced today that Facebook, the world’s leading social networking service connecting more than 500 million people, will locate a multi-million dollar data center near Forest City in Rutherford County.

Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that the Industrial Asset Management Council (IAMC) has selected Pinehurst to host the group’s bi-annual meeting from April 26 to 30, 2014.

The IAMC conference will provide an opportunity to showcase the state, giving North Carolina unique access to executives and economic developers across the nation who are key decision makers when businesses choose to expand or relocate their operations and where new jobs will be located.
