Gov. Bev Perdue announced today that the U.S. Energy Department has approved North Carolina’s $75.9 million Energy Plan to improve energy efficiency, promote greater use of renewable energy resources and create more green jobs.  The program will be funded through the state’s share of federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds. 
State Grant Helps Baldor Electric Co. Expand in Kings Mountain
Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that Teupen, a global leader in the design and manufacture of track-mounted aerial work platforms, will open its U.S. headquarters, services and spare parts operations in Mecklenburg County.  The company has leased a 10,000-square-foot industrial building in Charlotte and is creating 10 jobs immediately, while planning to expand further in the next two years.   
A new report by the Pew Center on the States indicates that North Carolina is poised to capitalize on Gov. Bev Perdue’s green energy plan, including her proposals to make green energy jobs a cornerstone of North Carolina’s economy.
