Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that DuBose Strapping, Inc., a manufacturer of steel and plastic strapping for packaging applications, will expand its production facility in Sampson County. The company plans to create 34 jobs and invest $10.5 million during the next three years in Clinton. The project was made possible in part by a $138,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.
Gov. Bev Perdue has declared May 2011 to be “Workforce Development Professionals Month” in North Carolina to honor all professionals who play such a vital role in our economy.  Workforce development professionals, organizations and partnerships are more critical than ever in a rapidly changing labor market that demands new skills and training programs.  
Secretary Keith Crisco today announced that 16 North Carolina small businesses and organizations will receive awards from the North Carolina Green Business Fund, totaling $4,580,686.45.  These projects will result in a total of approximately 35 jobs being created or retained. “Encouraging investments in the green economy is a centerpiece of our job creation strategy,” said Commerce Secretary Keith Crisco.  “This fast growing industry holds vast potential for the future and we must continue to support its development in North Carolina.”
Today, Gov. Bev Perdue announced plans to honor communities across the state for the creative, innovative ways they help small businesses bring jobs to North Carolina. Two-thirds of all new jobs are created by small businesses, making them critical economic drivers for communities across the state.
State Grant Helps Company Expand in Raeford

Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that Unilever, one of the world’s largest consumer products companies, will expand its manufacturing facility in Hoke County with the creation of 65 jobs and an investment of $35 million during the next three years in Raeford.  The project was made possible in part by a $195,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.
Gov. Bev Perdue announced today that seven communities will receive more than $969,000 through the state’s Main Street Solutions Fund. The small businesses that benefit from the Main Street Solutions grants will create or retain a minimum of 119 permanent and 57 part-time jobs in addition to 84 construction jobs, according to the grant applications.
State Grant Helps Geiger International Expand in Hildebran
Gov. Bev Perdue announced today that Electrolux North America, a leader in the manufacturing of home and professional appliances, will consolidate additional positions from locations throughout the United States to Charlotte. The company plans to create 200 jobs over the next four years with a $14 million capital investment in Charlotte. The project was made possible in part by state grants from the Job Development Investment Grant and One North Carolina programs.
