Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that P&G Manufacturing (PGM) will build a manufacturing facility that will increase its capacity to produce air filtration equipment in Washington, N.C. The company expects to create 32 full time jobs and invest $4 million in the plant by 2012. The project was made possible in part by a $96,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.
Gov. Bev Perdue announced today that five North Carolina towns have been selected to participate in the N.C. Small Town Main Street Program, an initiative for small and rural towns that focuses on creating new jobs and investment by helping revitalize downtown areas. Bev Perdue today joined leaders from Enviva LP, a leading manufacturer of processed biomass fuel in the United States and Europe, in Garysburg to announce that the company will build a new wood pellet manufacturing facility, with a capacity of 400K metric tons in that Northampton County town. The project is projected to create 62 jobs, and the company expects to invest $60 million in the plant in the next three years. The project was made possible in part by a $300,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.
Gov. Bev Perdue and officials from Charlotte-based Celgard LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Polypore International, Inc. (NYSE: PPO), today announced plans to expand production capacity in Concord and hire an additional 250 employees. The project was made possible in part by state grants from the Job Development Investment Grant and One North Carolina Grant programs. To meet the targets established in these performance-based grants, the company plans to create 250 jobs and invest a total of $105 million in Cabarrus County over the next two years.
