Company Plans to Create 550 jobs
  Governor Pat McCrory participated today in the groundbreaking ceremony for the new manufacturing facility for Morinaga America Foods, a leading international confectionary company based in Japan.  The new 120,000 square foot Orange County facility will be the company’s first production facility outside of Asia and will create approximately 90 new jobs and an investment of $48 million over the next three years.  
  Governor Pat McCrory and N.C. Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker announced today that YG-1 America, Inc. is planning to locate its advanced manufacturing operation in Mecklenburg County, creating 53 jobs and investing approximately $13.8 million over the next three years in Charlotte.  
  Governor Pat McCrory and N.C. Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker announced today that Tyton BioEnergy Systems, a company based in Danville, Virginia, is restarting the former Clean Burn Fuels biorefinery in Hoke County as part of its strategy to convert its proprietary tobacco, to be grown regionally, into ethanol.  The new operation will generate 79 jobs and invest $36 million over the next three years in Hoke, Wake and other surrounding counties.  
Governor Pat McCrory and N.C. Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker announced today that Highland Industries is expanding its North Carolina manufacturing operations in Iredell County.  The company plans to create 29 jobs and invest $8.25 million over the next three years in Statesville.   “North Carolina has a proud manufacturing heritage," said Governor McCrory. “Helping our state’s manufacturing industry grow is an integral part of our overall economic development strategy.”  
N.C. Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker and Assistant Secretary for Rural Development Dr. Pat Mitchell announced today that the N.C. Rural Infrastructure Authority (RIA) approved seven grants totaling more than $ 2.4 million dollars. The RIA was established as part of the Rural Economic Development Division at the N.C. Department of Commerce to assist with the review and approval of grants for rural areas in the state. The grants-making programs of the new division include assistance for building reuse and restoration as well as infrastructure including water and sewer.

, N.C. - Governor Pat McCrory announced today that the North Carolina tourism industry generated record visitor spending in 2013. The $20.2 billion in domestic visitor spending represents a 4.1 percent increase over 2012.  
, N.C. - Governor Pat McCrory and N.C. Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker announced today that BorgWarner Turbo Systems is expanding its North Carolina manufacturing operations in Buncombe County.  The company plans to create 63 jobs and invest more than $32 million over the next three years in Arden.
