Grants and loans support 272 new jobs statewide
RALEIGH — The state’s seasonally adjusted September unemployment rate was 5.8 percent, decreasing 0.1 of a percentage point from August’s revised rate. The national rate remained unchanged at 5.1 percent. North Carolina’s September 2015 unemployment rate was unchanged from a year ago. The number of people employed increased 3,670 over the month to 4,476,319 and increased 118,509 over the year. The number of people unemployed decreased 4,664 over the month to 276,072, and increased 7,090 over the year.
Ashley Furniture Will Invest $8.7 Million in Expansion Project
, N.C. - Governor Pat McCrory, N.C. Commerce Secretary John E. Skvarla III and the Economic Development Partnership of N.C. announced today that Magneti Marelli Powertrain USA LLC will expand one of its plants located in Lee County and plans to create 76 new jobs over the next three years.  The company plans to invest $12 million in the city of Sanford over two years.

, N.C. - Governor Pat McCrory has proclaimed September 28 through October 2, 2015 as Manufacturing Week in North Carolina. Since Governor McCrory took office in January 2013, North Carolina has added more than 230,000 new jobs, including 18,600 in the manufacturing segment alone. Manufacturers employ more than 448,000 North Carolinians.  
Raleigh, N.C. - Governor Pat McCrory, North Carolina Commerce Secretary John E. Skvarla, III, and the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC) announced today that DB Global Technology, Inc. will undertake a 250-job expansion over the coming two years at its software application development center in Wake County. The company plans to invest $9 million there through the end of 2016.  
, N.C. - Governor Pat McCrory, N.C. Commerce Secretary John E. Skvarla, III, and the Economic Development Partnership of N.C. announced today that North State Aviation will open an aircraft maintenance center at the North Carolina Global TransPark in Lenoir County, creating 109 new jobs over the next two years. The company will invest $900,000 over the same period.

Skvarla III and the Economic Development Partnership of N.C. announced three productions will receive funds from the North Carolina Film and Entertainment Grant.“North Carolina has a lot to offer the film and entertainment industry and we look forward to these productions getting underway and providing job opportunities across the state,” said Secretary Skvarla.  “These projects present a chance to establish long term relationships, showcase our state’s quality of life, and highlight North Carolina’s natural beauty.”
