Gov. Bev Perdue announced today that Compass Group USA, Inc., a hospitality and support services company will move some corporate jobs from several regional headquarter operations to Charlotte. The company plans to create 200 jobs over the next four years with an $8.5 million capital investment in Charlotte. Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that Ice River Springs, a water bottling company, will expand their operations in Burke County. The project includes an additional 100,000 square foot warehouse and the hiring of 12 new employees. Ice River Springs, headquartered in Canada, opened their first U.S. facility in Morganton in 2006.
Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that 63 North Carolina college, graduate and law students have been selected for summer internships with state agencies. Now in its 41st year, the N.C. State Government Internship Program is coordinated by the Youth Advocacy and Involvement Office in the Department of Administration.
RALEIGHGov. Bev Perdue today announced that Technimark, a provider of plastic injection molding services, will expand in Randolph County. The company plans to create 30 jobs and invest $20 million during the next four years in Asheboro. The project was made possible in part by a $60,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.
Gov. Bev Perdue announced today that AptarGroup, Inc., a leading global supplier of customized dispensing systems (spray and lotion pumps, dispensing closures, and aerosol valves) for the beauty, personal care, pharmaceutical, household, food and beverage markets, will open its newest manufacturing facility in Lincolnton. The company plans to create 150 jobs over the next five years with approximately $50 million in capital investments in Lincolnton. The project was made possible in part by a state grant from the Job Development Investment Grant program.

North Carolina received five stars for living environment and four stars each for workforce quality and taxation and regulations in the rankings compiled from surveys of 550 CEOs from across the country.
