Automotive parts manufacturer to invest $113 million for expansion
, NC - Governor Pat McCrory and N.C. Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker announced today that Elkamet Inc. is expanding its North Carolina manufacturing operations in Henderson County.  The company plans to create 20 new jobs and invest more than $2.5 million over the next three years in East Flat Rock.  
N.C. Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker and Assistant Secretary for Rural Development Dr. Pat Mitchell announced today that the N.C. Rural Infrastructure Authority (RIA) approved 18 grants totaling more than $8.1 million. The RIA was established as part of the Rural Economic Development Division at the N.C. Department of Commerce to assist with the review and approval of grants for rural areas in the state. The grants-making programs of the new division include assistance for building reuse and restoration as well as infrastructure including water and sewer.

Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker announced today that XO.STEEL, LLC is locating its North Carolina manufacturing operations in McDowell County.  The company plans to create 30 new jobs and invest $350,000 over the next three years in Old Fort.   “We’ve created an atmosphere of job creation, growth and investment for innovative companies,” said Governor McCrory. "This new steel coatings business will provide job opportunities to keep talented workers in McDowell County.”

Governor Pat McCrory and the NC Division of Tourism, Film and Sports Development announced today the recipients of the Winner’s Circle awards, given annually since 2004 to people who have made significant and continuing contributions to the growth and success of North Carolina’s tourism industry. Governor Pat McCrory and N.C. Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker announced today that Kearfott Corporation is planning to expand its North Carolina manufacturing operations in Buncombe County. When the One NC grant is carried through to completion, it will result in the creation of 75 jobs and an investment of approximately $11.8 million over the next three years in Black Mountain.
