Raleigh, N.C. - Governor Pat McCrory applauded a new report issued by the Commission on Workforce Development that shows North Carolina can narrow the skills gap by increasing direct collaboration between critical industries and the state’s job training programs. The report was issued at the joint Education Cabinet and Commission on Workforce Development meeting held today at the McKimmon Center on the North Carolina State campus.  

Governor Pat McCrory and N.C. Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker announced today that Cascades Tissue Group will open a new manufacturing facility in Scotland County.  The company plans to create 68 new jobs and invest $62 million during the next three years in Wagram. The investment includes $55 million of new capital expenditure (such as building infrastructure, new equipment and other capitalized expenses) and converting equipment to be transferred from other facilities outside of North Carolina valued at $7 million.
