Industrial Commission Focuses on Combating Fraud; Collects Nearly $1 Million for Public Schools

, N.C. - Nearly $1 million dollars in civil penalties from North Carolina businesses that operate without required workers’ compensation insurance coverage was collected by the state Industrial Commission’s Fraud and Compliance team during the past fiscal year. The proceeds from these penalties go to a state fund used exclusively for maintaining the public school system.

Nutec to Construct New Facility and Hire More Than 60 Employees

, N.C.— Governor Pat McCrory, N.C. Commerce Secretary John E. Skvarla III and the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC) announced today that Nutec Group will develop a new advanced manufacturing facility in North Carolina creating 61 new jobs over the next three years. The company also plans to invest $19.2 million in the town of Huntersville over the same period to construct a new 62,500 square foot plant.

Dimensional Fund Advisors LP Brings Regional Headquarters, 316 Jobs to Mecklenburg County

te, N.C.— Governor Pat McCrory, North Carolina Commerce Secretary John E. Skvarla, III and the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina announced today that Dimensional Fund Advisors LP (Dimensional) will be locating its East Coast regional headquarters in Mecklenburg County. The company plans to create 316 jobs in Charlotte by the end of 2020. There will also be capital investment of approximately $105 million for acquiring property, building and outfitting a new office building. The new facilities could be completed as early as 2018.




Herbalife Expansion in Forsyth County Will Create More Than 300 New Jobs

Raleigh, N.C.— Governor Pat McCrory, North Carolina Commerce Secretary John E. Skvarla, III and the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina announced today that Herbalife Ltd. will be expanding in Forsyth County. The company plans to create 301 new jobs in Winston-Salem by the end of 2018, in addition to the 500 jobs that will have been created by the end of 2015. It also plans to invest an additional $3.5 million into infrastructure and development by the end of next year.

National Spinning Company Bringing 50 New Jobs to Duplin County With Expansion

, N.C.— Governor Pat McCrory, N.C. Commerce Secretary John E. Skvarla III and the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC) announced today that National Spinning Co., Inc. will be expanding its facilities in North Carolina and creating 50 new jobs over the next three years.  The company plans to invest $1.5 million in the town of Beulaville over the same period.

 

Expansion of White Oak Carpet Mills, LLC to Bring 40 New Jobs to Rutherford County

Raleigh, N.C.— Governor Pat McCrory, N.C. Commerce Secretary John E. Skvarla III and the Economic Development Partnership of N.C. announced today that White Oak Carpet Mills, LLC, a division of CAP Carpet, Inc. based in Wichita, Kansas is expanding its operations in Rutherford County and plans to create 40 new jobs over the next three years.  The company plans to invest $4.1 million in the town of Spindale over the same period.


 

Blue Bloodhound, LP to Bring 191 New Jobs to Catawba County

, N.C.— Governor Pat McCrory, N.C. Commerce Secretary John E. Skvarla III and the Economic Development Partnership of N.C. announced today that Blue Bloodhound, LP is establishing operations in Catawba County and plans to create 191 new jobs over the next three years.  The company plans to invest $400,000 in the city of Hickory over the same period.

 

N.C. Rural Infrastructure Authority Approves Grants


North Carolina Commerce Secretary John E. Skvarla, III and Assistant Secretary for Rural Development Dr. Patricia Mitchell announced today that the N.C. Rural Infrastructure Authority (RIA) approved 16 grants or loans totaling more than $6.0 million with the commitment of 1,331 new jobs. 

Proto Labs, Inc. Expansion to Add 170 New Jobs in Wake County

, N.C.— Governor Pat McCrory, N.C. Commerce Secretary John E. Skvarla III  and the Economic Development Partnership of N.C. announced today that Proto Labs, Inc., will be expanding in Wake County and creating 170 new jobs over the next five years. The company plans to invest in excess of $25 million in the Town of Cary over the same period.

 

ATI Specialty Materials to Expand in Union County and Add 70 New Jobs 

, N.C.— Governor Pat McCrory, N.C. Commerce Secretary John E. Skvarla, III and the Economic Development Partnership of N.C. announced today that Allegheny Technologies Incorporated will be constructing a new manufacturing facility adjacent to its current site in Union County. The expansion will create 70 new jobs over the next three years with a company investment of $69.8 million in the City of Monroe.
