North Carolina Commerce Secretary Machelle Baker Sanders has named Kristina Ray as the next Administrator of Credit Unions, a role that includes supervision of the North Carolina Credit Union Division.  As Administrator, Ray will lead the regulatory agency in promoting and assisting in the formation of credit unions in the state, as well as ensuring the safety and soundness of credit unions in compliance with applicable laws through yearly examinations.

North Carolina has received Area Development magazine’s 2023 Platinum Shovel Award which recognizes states that went above and beyond the gold standard for investment and job creation. This is the second year in a row the state has received this honor, sharing the inaugural award in 2022 with Tennessee. North Carolina is the only state recognized for the Platinum Shovel award this year.

ProKidney, Corp., a late clinical-stage cellular therapeutics company focused on chronic kidney disease (CKD), will be establishing a new biomanufacturing facility in Guilford County, potentially creating up to 330 jobs, Governor Roy Cooper announced today.

Auction Direct USA, an operator of a network of used vehicle superstores, will expand its operations in North Carolina by locating a new high-volume vehicle reconditioning facility in Granville County, creating 173 jobs, Governor Roy Cooper announced today. The company will invest $2.9 million in Oxford.

Bosch will add 400 new jobs in Lincoln County for its power tools business, Governor Roy Cooper announced today. The company says it will invest $130 million to expand its power tools accessory manufacturing site in the City of Lincolnton.

“It is great news that Bosch has selected to expand its North American manufacturing operations right here in Lincolnton,” said Governor Cooper. “Our state's strong rural communities and talented workforce continue to attract businesses and provide opportunities for growth.”

alpitronic Americas LLC, a manufacturer of high-power electric vehicle charging stations, will create 300 new jobs in Mecklenburg County, Governor Roy Cooper announced today. The company will invest more than $18.3 million to locate its United States headquarters operation and service center in Charlotte.

Phase Change Solutions, a manufacturer of products for temperature management, will add 35 new jobs in Guilford County, Governor Roy Cooper announced today. The company’s investment in the new U.S. headquarters and manufacturing operation in the City of Greensboro is expected to be more than $3.5 million.

Atom Power, the pioneer in networked energy, will expand its headquarters and manufacturing operations in Mecklenburg County, creating 205 jobs, Governor Roy Cooper announced today. The company will invest nearly $4.2 million in Huntersville.

"North Carolina leads the nation in the transition to the clean energy economy,” said Governor Cooper. “Electric Vehicles are key to this transition and I’m pleased Atom Power is expanding in Huntersville to make critical parts for EV charging stations which will be located throughout North Carolina.”

Select Genetics, a turkey breeder, will create 26 jobs in Wayne County, Governor Roy Cooper announced today. The company will invest $58 million to build a new turkey egg hatchery and establish turkey farms in Goldsboro.
