Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that TurboCare Inc., a subsidiary of Siemens Energy that provides turbomachinery parts and services to companies around the world, will expand its Forsyth County facility, creating 110 jobs and investing $30 million during the next three years.  The announcement was made possible in part by a $220,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.

“TurboCare’s expansion is a win for Rural Hall and for North Carolina,” Perdue said. “That so many international companies doing business in North Carolina choose to expand here when they have options around the country and around the world shows that our commitments to education, training and a business-friendly environment continue to prove successful.”

TurboCare offers service solutions in the industrial and power generation markets in more than 100 countries. It provides a complete range of component repair, equipment refurbishment, system retrofits, engineering and parts replacement services with 2,500 workers worldwide. That includes 176 current employees in Rural Hall.

Salaries for the 110 new workers will vary by job function, but the overall average wage will be $45,855 a year, not including benefits. That is higher than the Forsyth County average annual wage of $39,936 without benefits.

“TurboCare is pleased with the decision to expand the existing facility in Rural Hall,” said Neil Sigmund, CEO. “The decision was based on the existing business relationship with Forsyth County and the strong state and local community support needed for the expansion.”

The One North Carolina Fund provides financial assistance through local governments to attract business projects that will stimulate economic activity and create new jobs in the state.  Through the use of the One North Carolina Fund, more than 40,000 jobs and $6.5 billion in investment have been created since 2001. All of these grants require at least 100 percent local matches.

Other partners who helped make this announcement possible include the N.C. Department of Commerce, Forsyth County, Winston-Salem Business Inc. and Duke Energy.
