Gov. Bev Perdue announced today that ABB Inc., a global leader in power and automation technologies for utility and industrial customers, will build a new manufacturing facility in Huntersville. The company plans to create 100 jobs over the next two years and invest $90 million at the new factory. In addition, ABB will create another 30 engineering jobs in Wake County, where its North American headquarters are located.  The project was made possible in part by state grants from the Job Development Investment Grant program and One North Carolina Fund.

Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that Kleen Tech Inc. will build a new process facility in Valdese to accommodate business growth. The company plans to create 30 jobs and invest $1.17 million during the next three years. The project was made possible in part by a $54,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.

Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that Medicago [Med-ih-CAH-go] USA Inc. will locate a new vaccine production facility in Durham. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Medicago, Inc., a publicly traded company based in Quebec, Canada. The firm plans to create 85 jobs in Research Triangle Park. The project was made possible in part by a $128,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.

Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that Noranda Aluminum Holding Corp will expand its Norandal USA plant in Salisbury. The company plans to create 25 jobs and invest $7 million. The project was made possible in part by a $108,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.  

Gov. Bev Perdue announced today that Caterpillar Inc., the largest maker of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, and industrial gas turbines in the world, will expand its manufacturing facilities in Lee County.  

Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that Ethan Allen Operations Inc., a manufacturer of Ethan Allen Interiors, will expand in Old Fort. The company plans to create 90 jobs and invest $250,000 to expand its production capacity. The project was made possible in part by a $270,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund. 

Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that Boral Composites Inc., a sister company to Boral Bricks in East Spencer, plans to open a plant to produce a new “green” product line for homebuilding. The company plans to create 25 jobs and invest $12.8 million. The project was made possible in part by a $50,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.  

N.C. Secretary of Commerce J. Keith Crisco today announced that Henry McKoy, chairman and CEO of Fourth-Sector Financial, a North Carolina-based financial services corporation focused on the green and sustainability sectors, is Commerce’s new assistant secretary for community development.

Gov. The company plans to create 392 jobs over the next five years and invest $426 million. The project was made possible in part by state grants from the Job Development Investment Grant program and One North Carolina Fund. 

Gov. Bev Perdue announced today that Brunswick Corporation, a leading global manufacturer of recreational products and parent company of New Bern-based Hatteras Yachts, will expand in Craven County. The company plans to add 350 jobs over the next five years and invest $4.7 million. The expansion was made possible in part by state grants from the Job Development Investment Grant program and One North Carolina Fund.
