NCWorks Career Centers are now registering more job seekers on the new  NCWorks mobile app to connect them to meaningful employment. The mobile app allows users to apply for jobs, compare their skills to job requirements, find training opportunities, and learn more about a career or industry through wage and employment projections.  In the mobile app, individuals search for jobs by keyword or circling a select area and all job postings within that circumference will be displayed.  
, N.C. — The military supports 578,000 jobs in North Carolina and more than two thirds of those jobs are in the private sector, demonstrating the impact of the military ripples across the state’s economy and not just concentrated near military installations. Those are the key findings of a new report released today by the North Carolina Military Affairs Commission and the North Carolina Department of Commerce.  
The N.C. Department of Commerce announced today that the City of Morganton, North Carolina has been awarded up to $25,000 from the Main Street Solutions Fund. “The North Carolina Main Street Center continues to help in revitalizing communities throughout the state,” said Secretary of Commerce John Skvarla. “We are pleased to revive urban historic buildings and to assist in the creation of at least ten new jobs in downtown Morganton.”
, N.C. — Governor Pat McCrory and Department of Commerce Secretary John E. Skvarla, III announced today that 97 of the state’s 100 counties saw increases in visitor spending in 2014. Data from Visit North Carolina showed that visitor spending neared $5 billion in Mecklenburg, topped $2 billion in Wake and topped $1 billion in Guilford and Dare counties.

Skvarla, III and the Economic Development Partnership of N.C. announced today that AR Textiles Ltd. will be locating a new manufacturing facility in Martin County and plans to create 38 new jobs over the next three years. The company plans to invest $12 million in the town of Robersonville over the same period.
, N.C. — Governor Pat McCrory, N.C. Commerce Secretary John E. Skvarla, III and the Economic Development Partnership of N.C. announced today that HAECO Americas’ aircraft interiors unit HAECO Cabin Solutions will expand in Guilford County and plans to create 127 new jobs over the next five years. The company plans to invest $11.3 million in the city of High Point over the same period.
 Durham, N.C.Governor Pat McCrory, North Carolina Commerce Secretary John E. Skvarla, III and the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina announced today that Interactive Intelligence Group Inc. (Nasdaq: ININ) will be expanding in Durham County. The company plans to create 200 new jobs in Durham within the next five years. Interactive Intelligence’s capital investment will be $1.2 million by the end of 2019.
, N.C. - Nearly $1 million dollars in civil penalties from North Carolina businesses that operate without required workers’ compensation insurance coverage was collected by the state Industrial Commission’s Fraud and Compliance team during the past fiscal year. The proceeds from these penalties go to a state fund used exclusively for maintaining the public school system.

Skvarla III and the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC) announced today that Nutec Group will develop a new advanced manufacturing facility in North Carolina creating 61 new jobs over the next three years. The company also plans to invest $19.2 million in the town of Huntersville over the same period to construct a new 62,500 square foot plant.

Skvarla, III and the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina announced today that Dimensional Fund Advisors LP (Dimensional) will be locating its East Coast regional headquarters in Mecklenburg County. The company plans to create 316 jobs in Charlotte by the end of 2020. There will also be capital investment of approximately $105 million for acquiring property, building and outfitting a new office building. The new facilities could be completed as early as 2018.
