N.C. Commerce Secretary John E. , N.C. -- The North Carolina Main Street Center has selected four municipalities to participate in its new Downtown Associate Community program.  The Town of Aberdeen, the Village of Chimney Rock, the Town of Elon and the City of Laurinburg will take part in the three-year program, which offers training, networking and technical expertise to communities with populations of fewer than 50,000.

Skvarla, III, and the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC) today announced an expansion by Mayne Pharma at its Greenville site. The specialty pharmaceutical company develops and manufactures branded and generic products globally, in addition to providing contract development and manufacturing services. Mayne Pharma plans to add 110 jobs and invest $65 million in a new oral dose manufacturing facility and equipment during the next five years.

Governor Pat McCrory along with Commerce Secretary John E. Skvarla, III, and the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina announced Associated Materials, LLC, a manufacturer of residential building products, will expand its Lenoir County manufacturing operations. The project will create 72 jobs at the company’s facility in Kinston, along with a capital investment of $4.5 million over three years.
