Raleigh, N.C. — The state’s seasonally adjusted December unemployment rate was 5.1 percent, increasing 0.1 of a percentage point from November’s revised rate.  The national rate increased 0.1 of a percentage point to 4.7 percent.
r Roy Cooper has recommended eight community and regional projects in Western North Carolina for Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) funding. The recommendations total more than $3 million in ARC funds.   “The Appalachian Regional Commission is a longtime, valued partner in regional economic development for our state,” said Governor Cooper. “From enhancing STEM education to improving broadband access, these projects support jobs and local businesses in communities across Western North Carolina.”

igh, N.C. — Unemployment rates (not seasonally adjusted) increased in 66 of North Carolina’s counties in November, decreased in 23, and remained unchanged in 11.  Hyde County had the highest unemployment rate at 9.4 percent, while Buncombe County and Orange County each had the lowest at 3.7 percent.  Six of the state’s metro areas experienced rate increases, five decreased, and four remained unchanged.

Raleigh, N.C. - Governor Pat McCrory, North Carolina Commerce Secretary John E. Skvarla, III, and the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC) today announced the expansion of Home Elevator & Lift Products LLC in Greene County. The company intends to create 22 jobs over the coming three years. It is investing nearly $560,000 at its manufacturing facility.
