Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that Lydall, a manufacturer of specialty thermal/acoustical products for the automotive industry, will expand their manufacturing facility in Hamptonville and open a new manufacturing and distribution facility in Yadkinville.  The company plans to create 170 jobs and invest $18.5 million during the next three years in Yadkin County.  The project was made possible in part by a $300,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.

Gov. Bev Perdue announced during a visit to the Keihin Carolina System Technology plant in Tarboro today that the company plans to create 50 new jobs and invest more than $13 million in expanding their facility. KCST is a world leader in the manufacture of Engine Control units and electronic assemblies for Honda and Acura automobiles and Honda Power Sports.

Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that TyraTech, a Florida-based eco-technology company, will relocate its headquarters to Morrisville. TyraTech has chosen to bring 105 jobs to Wake County because of the talented workforce available in North Carolina.

Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that Bluestar Silicones, a fully integrated global silicones manufacturer, will locate a new facility in Mecklenburg County.  The company plans to create 125 jobs and invest $19.8 million during the next three years in Charlotte.  The project was made possible in part by a $340,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.

Gov. Bev Perdue announced today that Eaton Corporation, a diversified industrial manufacturer will expand its Roxboro facility in Person Country to meet the needs of its global automotive customers. The company plans to create 120 jobs over the next four years and will invest $23.3 million to build leading edge engine valvetrain components that will reduce emissions and help improve a vehicles overall performance, fuel economy and safety. The project was made possible in part by state grants from the Job Development Investment Grant program and One North Carolina Fund.

Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that the Gates Corporation, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of automobile belts and hoses, will expand their facility in Ashe County.  The company plans to create 58 jobs and invest $4.6 million during the next three years in Jefferson.  The project was made possible in part by a $100,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.

Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that QVC, Inc., a major multimedia retailer, through its subsidiary QVC Rocky Mount, Inc., will expand its distribution facility in Edgecombe County.  The company plans to create 200 jobs and invest $71 million during the next five years in Rocky Mount.  The project was made possible in part by a $1,000,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.

Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that Avgol, a leading manufacturer of ultra lightweight nonwoven fabrics, will expand its facility in Davie County.  The company plans to create 42 jobs and invest $35 million during the next three years in Mocksville.  The project was made possible in part by an $84,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.

Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that $14 million will be distributed to 26 local governments through the Community Development Block Grant Economic Recovery Program (CDBG ER).   Each grant will help develop infrastructure, housing or special needs in the community.  “Improving infrastructure and housing in our neediest communities, while creating jobs is a win-win for all involved,” said Gov. Perdue.  “I congratulate each of our communities that are participating in the CDBG program.”

Gov. Bev Perdue announced today the North Carolina Energy Office has awarded $8.5 million in federal Recovery Act funds to 43 public and private agencies to make downtown local government and small businesses more energy efficient, promote conservation and use of renewable fuels in industrial buildings and provide for greater energy efficiency in commercial and large nonprofit facilities.
