Automotive Supplier will add 42 jobs and invest more than $13 million
igh, N.C. — Unemployment rates (not seasonally adjusted) increased in 71 of North Carolina’s counties in December, decreased in 9, and remained unchanged in 20.  Hyde County had the highest unemployment rate at 11.6 percent, while Buncombe County had the lowest at 3.7 percent.  Eleven of the state’s metro areas experienced rate increases and four remained unchanged.

Raleigh, N.C. — The state’s seasonally adjusted December unemployment rate was 5.1 percent, increasing 0.1 of a percentage point from November’s revised rate.  The national rate increased 0.1 of a percentage point to 4.7 percent.
r Roy Cooper has recommended eight community and regional projects in Western North Carolina for Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) funding. The recommendations total more than $3 million in ARC funds.   “The Appalachian Regional Commission is a longtime, valued partner in regional economic development for our state,” said Governor Cooper. “From enhancing STEM education to improving broadband access, these projects support jobs and local businesses in communities across Western North Carolina.”
