The N.C. Department of Commerce is currently meeting with board members and staff from the N.C. Rural Economic Development Center and the Office of State Budget and Management (OSBM) to develop a seamless transition plan for the existing Rural Center programs and grants. OSBM has authorized payments for 17 grants submitted for funding by the N.C. Rural Economic Center. The grants total nearly $1.6 million.
Company to create 162 jobs and invest more than $3.3 million
The N.C. Department of Commerce has launched a new job-search website helping talented job seekers and employers connect with each other. The new system, NC Works Online, provides a one-stop platform to streamline the job search process, while improving security and reducing annual operational costs by more than $400,000.
Governor Pat McCrory and North Carolina Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker announced today that Continental Automotive Systems, Inc. will expand its manufacturing facility in Henderson County.  The company plans to create 40 jobs and invest more than $35 million over the next five years in Fletcher, North Carolina.
Agribusiness Company to create 150 new jobs
Governor Pat McCrory and North Carolina Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker announced today that Pactiv, LLC will expand manufacturing facilities in Lenoir and Iredell counties.  The company plans to create 77 jobs in the two counties and invest more than $9 million in Kinston and Mooresville.
Governor Pat McCrory and North Carolina Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker announced today that Wright Foods will be expanding its food processing and packaging operation in Montgomery County.  The company plans to create 505 new jobs and invest $53 million over the next five years in Troy. Wright Foods currently employs more than 80 employees in North Carolina.
Facilities expanding in Asheville, Durham, West Jefferson and Wilmington
Governor Pat McCrory and North Carolina Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker announced today that Ottenweller Company will expand its steel fabrication manufacturing operation in Surry County.  The company plans to create 20 new jobs and invest more than $1.5 million over the next three years in Mount Airy.  
Governor Pat McCrory and North Carolina Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker announced today that Rooms To Go will be building a new warehouse, distribution center and retail showroom in Harnett County. The company plans to create 220 new jobs and invest $40 million over the next three years in Dunn.    “Rooms to Go knows our state’s support for the furniture industry is second to none,” said Governor McCrory. “It’s always great news when existing companies choose to reinvest and grow their business right here in North Carolina.”
