ton, NC - Governor Pat McCrory and North Carolina Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker announced today that idX Impressions will be expanding its manufacturing operations in Beaufort County.  The company plans to create 159 new jobs and invest $3 million over the next three years in Washington.   “Our administration is continuing its focus on developing the manufacturing industry and emphasizing eastern North Carolina as a strategic location for growth,” said Governor Pat McCrory. “We welcome the expansion of idX Impressions here in Beaufort County.”

Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker announced today that Morinaga, a leading international confectionary company, will locate a new facility in Orange County.   The company plans to create 90 new jobs and invest $48 million over the next three years.   “Morinaga’s decision to locate in Orange County will mean more North Carolina products being sold in the global marketplace,” said Governor McCrory. “Our robust talent pool and attractive quality of life will be a perfect fit for this growing company.”  
, NC- Governor Pat McCrory announced the Office of State Budget and Management (OSBM) has authorized payments for 41 grants funded by the North Carolina Rural Economic Development Center. The grants total $2,020,464.92.   “The Office of State Budget and Management continues to work diligently to review these grants so we can honor these commitments our rural communities,” said Governor McCrory.   Since August 1, OSBM has authorized payments for 112 grants submitted for funding by the N.C. Rural Economic Development Center. The grants total more than $5.5 million.

(AMI) will be expanding its manufacturing operation in Lenoir County.  The company plans to create 252 new jobs and invest more than $5 million over the next five years in Kinston.

Merchandise export sales already outpacing 2012 by 6 percent
Domestic Visitor Spending Jumps to Record $19.4 Billion
, NC - The U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration (ITA) reports North Carolina merchandise exports increased 6 percent in the first half of 2013 compared to the same period in 2012, growing from $14.1 billion to $14.8 billion.   “These results show that there is increasing global demand for products made or grown in North Carolina,” said Governor Pat McCrory. “Our administration is committed to providing businesses the support they need to get their products to the international marketplace.”  
The N.C. Department of Commerce announced today that six new communities have been chosen to participate in the Office of Urban Development’s 2013 Small Town Main Street program. Belhaven, Hayesville, Marshville, Mayodan, Robersonville and Valdese were selected through a competitive application process that included 18 communities from across the state. Designation of these six new towns brings the total number of the state’s Small Town Main Street communities to 50.
