, N.C. - Governor Pat McCrory and North Carolina Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker announced today that United Furniture Industries NC, LLC is expanding operations in Forsyth County.  The company plans to create 200 new jobs and invest $5.2 million over the next three years in Winston-Salem.  
North Carolina Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker and Assistant Secretary for Rural Development Dr. Pat Mitchell announced today that the N.C. Rural Infrastructure Authority (RIA) approved eight grants or loans totaling $9 million with the commitment of more than 220 new jobs. 
Governor Pat McCrory and N.C. Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker announced today that Cascades Tissue Group will open a new manufacturing facility in Scotland County.  The company plans to create 68 new jobs and invest $62 million during the next three years in Wagram. The investment includes $55 million of new capital expenditure (such as building infrastructure, new equipment and other capitalized expenses) and converting equipment to be transferred from other facilities outside of North Carolina valued at $7 million.   
Expansion to create more than 40 jobs
Governor Pat McCrory and North Carolina Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker announced today that Sigma Plastics Group will restore the former Excelsior Rosman plant in Transylvania County and create 80 new jobs under the newly formed New Excelsior Incorporated.  In addition to the new jobs, the company plans to expand manufacturing operations and invest $5.5 million over the next three years in Brevard.  
A new fraud alerting tool recently installed by the North Carolina Industrial Commission has led to criminal charges being filed against North Carolina employers who failed to maintain workers’ compensation insurance.  The Noncompliant Employer Targeting System (NETS) uses data from various state agencies and produces a list of potentially noncompliant employers ranked in terms of priority.  NETS went online April 14, 2014.
