Deb Wojcik, Ph.D.

Deb Wojcik is Deputy Director of the North Carolina Office of Science, Technology & Innovation (OSTI) in the North Carolina Department of Commerce, where she works across the office’s research, strategic advisory, programmatic, and partnership activities to advance science, technology, and innovation across the state. She brings more than 25 years of experience spanning interdisciplinary research, innovation ecosystem development, cross-sector collaboration, higher education, and nonprofit leadership.

Prior to joining OSTI, Wojcik served as Executive Director of the Research Triangle Cleantech Cluster (RTCC), where she led statewide initiatives to strengthen North Carolina’s clean technology innovation ecosystem and built partnerships among industry, universities, government, entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and investors. She previously held leadership positions at Duke University and Stanford University developing interdisciplinary programs, leading strategic planning and evaluation initiatives, teaching, and building partnerships that connected research, education, and practice. 

Wojcik is a Ph.D.-trained social scientist whose research and professional work has focused on technology innovation, organizational networks, stakeholder engagement, and collaborative approaches to addressing complex challenges. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Florida and Master of Environmental Management, Master of Arts in Teaching, and Bachelor of Science degrees from Duke University. A native of Upstate New York, Wojcik and her family are now firmly rooted in North Carolina.
